This is a post about a post :) The second staircase was worked on this weekend with the help of friends (thanks S). The posts were milled from 150 year old barn purlines/brackets that were existing in the old addition. I sooo love using reclaimed materials! This railing will add fabulous architectural detail to the kitchen area, oh yes, and safety! There is quite a bit of engineering that goes into determining how the posts will be installed. Once you are past that point the fun stuff happens and the job gets finished quickly. I can't wait until I can post the finished product..........let's just hope the progress doesn't get derailed............... :)
