Day 253

The weekend weather was perfect for sprucing up the gardens. We have a lot of ferns growing at the back of the property and I transplanted lots of them to the front to fill in between the bushes and trees :)  Hopefully they don't take over the bushes.  Even if they started to, I can easily move some of them somewhere else!  I love ferns.  We have an amazing local garden centre that carries fantastic stuff.  Last year we purchased some rhododendrons and luckily they are starting to bloom in the front :)  A pretty pink, don't you think?  Before we had the house lifted there was tons of old fashioned plants growing around the foundation.  We tried to move as many as we could to a holding bed out back.  A Rose Of Sharon was saved and we put it back this weekend to almost the same spot we moved it from.  I sure hope it stays alive, I have a certain fondness for them :)  Another bit of information is the fact that we used the rubble from the old foundation walls to act as the border for the south side planting bed.  The last photo is not road kill (although people have driven by and stopped to ask if there was something wrong with her)................ it is our dog who loves to sun bathe whenever and wherever she can........... of course she also loves to eat rhododendrons, which we found out this weekend........... :(
