Summer is surrounding the house. We really tore up the property when first restoring it, and still the flowers keep coming up! Lots of beautiful old fashioned varieties that completely suit the house and were probably planted years and years ago. We have so many hollyhock coming up it is unbelievable! Just look at the gorgeous poppy, sitting alone in the backyard. It grew up from virtually, a dirt pile! I will definitely keep to the true nature of this backyard while fixing it up and plant lots of older specimens. I feel like I have travelled back in time with this house.....................not a bad thing :)
