Day 9

I have been a little remiss in my blogging lately, but you haven't missed anything!  The floorboards are off the remaining part of the addition (do you think the heater hanging from the joists to keep the pipes from freezing is to code??)  Weird, but it actually is.  We had a lot of house guests not just upstairs but downstairs as well!  You can guess what all the little black things are.  On a happier note I did find a nice solid wood door which I will probably reclaim :)  Who else gets the luxury of barbecuing in the rain, inside?  You can see the beams in this old beauty, and the good news is we think we found a home for them!  The three r's are an important part of this renovation, as they should be.  A friend is taking the two exterior doors, one for her pool cabana and one for her barn.  We were able to have a bonfire on the weekend (relax, we got the appropriate permits) so lots of the unpainted wood kept us warm and required zero trips to the dump ! Yeah!  The reclaimed wood we are keeping will be sold to a local cabinetmaker but we are keeping some to make a new dining table for the house.  We like to think a little bit of the barn will remain.  You can see the piles sitting in the backyard.  So, that's it until next week when the big stuff comes to move this project to the next level........
