Day 126

Treasures!  Things we have found under the house when we raised it for the new basement.  These are just a few of the fun things we have come across during this renovation (unfortunately no bag of gold coins).  The bottles are interesting because they tell us so much about life in the earlier days of this house, a sort of social history.  Obviously there was no recycling, so when you were finished?  Throw it under the house!  Thankfully we no longer do this :)  The bottle on the right is interesting and we can certainly use it as decoration in some form.  I will think on that.  The second picture, the old grate, is something that is very heavy and very beautiful.  I could use this in many ways.  A hot pot holder, an actual grate cover, or as a wall decoration.  Take another look at the pieces around your house and see a new use for them.  Oh, and the drawer pull at the top of the blog?.....................that was on a feed door in the old "barn" part of the house boarded up in an interior wall.........how fun is that?!
