Day 3

Okay.  So when I mentioned the 'hangover' look you get from the back porch, it will be fairly evident in these interior photos!  Picture number one is taken from the front entrance, and that's what I love about older homes!  When would a new builder put a five foot wide hallway in a smaller home?  It just doesn't happen.  It also has nine foot ceilings, which okay, the new builds are starting to have.  (it just makes a room have better scale).  The second photo is the new "helper" we acquired for the renovation!???  Moving on to photo three.  This room is in the middle of the house and is approximately 15 1/2 ft by 16 1/2 ft, (and yes, it is also green).  It is the entry point to most of the rooms on the main floor, but it is such an amazing space to have!  Just wait until you see what is done with this room :-)  Most people would be  intimidated by all the doors (and box window).  I think from a design stand point it is an excellent challenge and I can already envision the layout.  Photo number four is of the upstairs hallway.   Simple, wide, lots of natural light....exactly correct!  Number five photo takes us back downstairs for now (don't worry we will come back eventually).  Can you see the chair lift anywhere?? You can slalom straight out the front door.  It's kind of tight (pronounced toit) but I will be addressing this in future blogs.  I'm thinking the bigger door has got to go....but...I have an idea...
