Day 8

I am a little late blogging today, my "helper" (see earlier postings) kept me busy!  We are pretty much in the final phase of tearing the addition down. Yeah!  One more big weekend push and it will be finished.  Just in time to lift it up!  There is no basement under the addition so when they raise the house (and it needs to sit 2 feet higher on the property) we will have a full basement under the original part and a full basement (just a hole) to build the new addition on top of.  The reason for the 2 ft height increase in the main part is because the lot slopes away from the road.  So, by the time we reach the end of the new basement we apparently will have a walkout!  More square footage (which is great, but i am trying to scale down my living space!!)

The latest pictures posted show the structure almost removed...oh and one of the motel guests...may they rest in peace :(
